Star-Cross'd: Round 15 results

I highly recommend both of these for their powerful narration and characterization. They are so different from one another in incredible ways. Plus, neither of them are long-- definitely worth a read.

Finally, this round is the last round of Star-Cross'd (for the foreseeable future). Perhaps Star-Cross'd will return as an event that occurs once a year instead of twice, but for now, the contest is on an indefinite hiatus. I have had the unbelievable opportunity to read different writers' interpretations of the same prompts for several years, so I'd like to thank them. SC writers, your participation in this contest meant the world to me, and I loved reading every single entry.

Extension of Star-Cross'd Deadline

I am extending the deadline of SC to this Sunday, June 21 (11:59 PM EST). Prompts can be found here. For those who want a support group to write with, we are hosting a WHWN this Friday at 9:00 PM EST. You can work on any piece--so it doesn't necessarily have to be an SC entry.

Camp Nano (Again), SC, & tumblr

Hi again! Just a reminder that the Star-Cross'd entries are due in 74 days (June 13, 2015). If you've been thinking about participating this round, I highly recommend joining ADoR's cabin at Camp Nano. If you're already registered for NaNoWriMo, then you're already registered for Camp Nano. You simply have to log in and set up your novel. We start writing on April 1.

So if you plan on joining us on writing something of any length (like something for SC), let me know your username via email or a comment to this post so I can add you to the cabin. It's definitely going to be fun/scary/crazy/awesome.

Camp NaNo!

Hello, everyone! This year, Rosie, Melissa, Helen, and I are participating in Camp NaNo. It starts on April 1st and lasts through the rest of the month. It's essentially NaNoWriMo (except that it's in April), and you can set your word count to be any number. There are cabins made up of twelve people to create a supportive environment.

SC deadline is extended

The Star-Cross'd deadline for this round was December 8, but is being extended to Saturday, December 13! With NaNo just having finished, I imagine that a bit of a breather would be needed for those who want to participate.

Most importantly, if you have any FP stories you would like to see reviewed on here, feel free to suggest them! With more suggestions, you will see more FP reviews being posted.

WHWN: NaNo Edition

There is a WHWN scheduled for this Saturday, November 29 at 4pm EST! For those of you who are scrambling to wrap up your NaNoWriMo stories (or even if you're just looking to work on any of your writing), join us for the livechat.

It will provide you with moral support, word sprints, anything you'd need to help get you to that 50K! If you feel that you'll need a reminder for the event, head over to the WHWN page and insert your email to RSVP.

The Announcement

As you can tell, A Drop of Romeo has undergone various changes! ADoR is expanding its horizons to not only review online fiction, but books as well. Online stories will be reviewed by the lovely Melissa, and the entire panel of judges, including myself, will be reviewing novels. The first book review will be posted tomorrow!

The FAQ has been updated to reflect any questions that may arise. The staff page has new banners. So many, many awesome things are happening right now.

EDIT (10/04/14 10:57am EST): We also have a Goodreads page, where the reviews will also be posted, so feel free to add us!
