She's a strong, independent P.I. just trying to get through each day. Unbeknownst to her, she's dangerous to vampires. She gets sucked into their world when all vampires make a choice: kill her or turn her. Except for one. He wants to save her.

Melissa Thinks: The Deadly Flower is easily one of the most well known and well written Supernatural stories on Fictionpress. It takes one of the most overdone topics, vampires, and brings it to new and exciting heights. Dahlia Simmons is a fiesty P.I. with a reputation for getting her job done. She has no idea what's in store for her when she wakes up in the hospital seriously injured with absolutely no memory of any kind of incident. Things get even more strange when suddenly she's the target of a whole underground community of supernatural beings. The reason? It's a complete mystery to her. One that she unfolds as the story progresses.
Dahlia is a refreshing take on modern day women; not fraile and cute like many fictional gals are. She keeps the story light and humorous inspite of it's dark themes. And we musn't forget the scrumptious, and not to mention undead, Callum Knightley who serves as Dahlia's knight in shining armor (no pun intended) as he tries to save her from a nasty fate. The gushing prose and compelling characters keep you engaged and facinated by Dahlia's world, which I'm sure is what makes it an instant favorite of many. This epic story surely puts Twilight to shame with it's swift action, realistic fantasy, and gripping romance.
