Helen Thinks: ‘They Say’ by heartrabbits is a poem that many people; both male and female; could relate to - the idea of people constantly picking at you for your appearance, your mannerisms and your personality because you are never going to be perfect enough. Yes, the material may not be exactly unique but that does not matter because heartrabbits writes it perfectly. The emotion, the distress and the frustration the narrator feels is all perfectly depicted throughout the poem as well as the strength that emanates at the end. ‘They Say’ is a poem that several readers will relate to and I pray that anyone who feels the same confusion as the narrator will also feel the bravery at the end.Saturday, January 5, 2013
