Helen Thinks: The first thing I noticed about ‘your heart beating against the radio static’ was the fact that it is written completely different to the other kind of poems on this site. The prose-like style of writing that poetic abortion has used throughout this piece of fiction keeps the reader clinging onto every single word that has been written. The crazy thing about this poem; this author; is that you can practically hear their voice through the way they decide to lace their words together. It’s captivating. With quotes from other songs perfectly allotted throughout, “your heart beating against the radio static” is a timeless poem that I shall be reading again and again.
