Juliet Thinks: It's more than likely that you've seen this story floating around on FictionPress multiple times. After all, it's one of the universally favorited stories. Maeven's well-known False Facades is like the mother of cliches: a girl disguises herself as a guy and enrolls in an all boys' school, falling for one of her roommates. Can't forget the gay best friend, Will, either. However, Sam isn't the typical swooning protagonist--she has a tormented past and is escaping from it.

With the right balance of humor and angst, the gender-bender cliche manages to capture one's sympathy for Samantha Westlane. Grammar, spelling, and capitalization are spot-on; the details and emotions form a well-developed plotline for the characters. The story didn't rush at the beginning and any relationships that came about didn't happen out of nowhere. Once you've finished reading it, you'll certainly be light-headed with its drama and romance swirling in your head.
