Perky London waitress plus inability to tell one end of horse from the other DOESN'T equal racing secretary to grumpy trainer Jack Carmichael. Useless racehorse plus cheating jockey DOESN'T equal Grand National hope... or does it?

Amy Thinks: Imagine you inherited a racehorse, know nothing about racing, yet have a blind faith that your underdog of a horse could pull off the impossible and win the biggest race of it's career. Pippa Taylor would know exactly what you're going through in Keeping the Peace. Now add in a sexy (sometimes grumpy) champion horse trainer by the name of Jack Carmichael for a boss in a tempting hurdle. The relationship between the two starts innocently enough before turning up the heat. Like real life, their relationship takes time. It's not a let-me-rip-your-clothes-off-and-jump-in-the-sack-right-this-moment kind of romance. Slow and steady wins the race, right? At forty-six chapters, the story's lengthy.

But the plus side? It's completed, so you don't have to sit on pins and needles awaiting the next update. hannah221's writing is extraordinary with the ability to put in enough detail to make the reader feel like they're watching the story play out infront of them, but not so much to where it's overpowering. There are a few typos here and there, but the quality of the writing is enough to forget about it. This SKoW runner up isn't appreciated enough. So saddle up, and let the whirlwind of conspiracy, adrenaline rushing, and the sometimes breath holding journey take you for a ride.
