Good Girls Don't Play With Fire

Reese was a good girl. Conscientious, effective, and thorough. Everything in her life was planned perfectly, except for a little infatuation with a certain arrogant brat named Cole Roderick.

Rosie Thinks: This has to be one of my favourite one-shots on fictionpress that I've read many times before - so just imagine my excitement when I saw it sitting in my inbox! This story is just a bundle of great cliches, but maybe that's why I like it so much. The story starts off with "Charlotte Reese Emerson was scrubbing a urinal" and continues on to be just as funny and original (despite being cliche - adio kalinihta makes that possible).

Reese is quick to anger but still very much a 'good girl'. Her feelings for Cole are complicated: she's jealous of him, annoyed by him, and yet has an annoying crush on him that she just can't shake. I love the depth of her feelings and how complicated they are - it made her into a more three dimensional character, despite this being a one-shot. I especially liked how Reese developed as a character towards the end. Cole also makes for an interesting character, with many facets of his personality displayed in the story.

adio kalinihta has a great writing style with the perfect balance of dialogue and description. The allegories were inserted seamlessly into the prose and just added to the overall plot. This story makes for an easy, light read that is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.
