Helen Thinks: “Definition”, written by diffident, takes the task of describing a person to a whole new level. I know this is a big generalisation but usually in poetry it takes on the form of describing someone’s physical appearance but that is not the case with this poem. ‘Definition’ details the elements that create a person’s personality unique; elements that you cannot see face on but still make them beautiful. Through their wide use of literary tools such as similes and adjectives, diffident has written a masterpiece that will have you feeling every single world. It’s a flawless piece of poetry that leaves you wondering what words you would use to define the people around you, especially that person you love.
